We also worked on reading fluency at that age too. We still read aloud *everyday* around the table, each of us taking turns reading a paragraph...mostly for our Bible Study both from the Bible and our study publication. <BR/><BR/>I know you are thinking about CM stuff so maybe you could think about working on oral narration after reading since I found with both my boys that even though they could read the words and seemed to comprehend, narrating back in clear, complete sentences was a skill they had to work on. That naturally works into written narration or the basis for more formal composition.
