The Birth of a Butterfly

If you'd like to witness the miraculous changes that take place, I'd encourage you to check out Insect Lore. If you'd like to see a fellow homeschool mom's field trip to the Insect Lore company, you can read her blog post here. According to her post, Praying Mantises eat Black Widow Spiders. I think we'll order those next!

Awesome! I'm going to show these to Ryan. He'll love seeing what is going to happen with his Painted Ladies. He was rather disappointed that he couldn't put them in the mesh container right away. LOL.

What fun! I used to get to teach the butterfly unit when I taught in NY. Your pictures made me miss it! We also took the kids on a fieldtrip to the butterfly conservatory in Canada. Can you imagine crossing the US border with two busloads of public school kids today?

Isn't this so fun. We did this a few years ago and I think it's time to do it again. The kids really enjoyed it. Have fun with it!
